What it's likely to be
Display connection fault
PossibleA white or green screen often means the screen is getting power but no picture signal. That can be the connector or the circuit feeding it.
Damaged panel
PossibleIf a test screen works perfectly on your phone, your own panel is the fault.
Frozen during an update
Less commonIf it happened mid-update and a force restart brings the Apple logo back, it was software.
Try this first
- Force restart: on iPhone 8 and newer (including SE 2nd and 3rd gen), press and let go of volume up, press and let go of volume down, then hold the side button until the Apple logo appears. On iPhone 7, hold volume down and the side button together.
- If it came back after the restart, update iOS and keep an eye on it. If it returns, bring it in — it's a sign the connection is going.
Bring it in if
- Still white or green after a force restart.
- It happens again after coming back once.
- The phone was dropped or got wet.
What SPR usually does
White / green screen repair (screen kept)
When the panel is fine and the fault is in the connection, we repair it and you keep your screen. 42 iPhones came in for this in the last 90 days.
Screen replacement — Original Grade
When a test screen proves your panel is the fault, the screen is replaced and you pick the grade.
The kept-screen repair's warranty covers the same fault coming back (30 days). It's not a full new-screen warranty, because the screen isn't new.
