What the numbers say
In the last 90 days across our outlets: 42 iPhones had a white/green screen repaired with the screen kept, 5 had a line repair, and 35 had the front glass changed. 782 needed a screen replacement.
So it's worth asking — but most screen faults on iPhones do end in a new screen.
Why the warranty is different
A replacement screen is a new part, so its warranty covers defects in the new part (90 or 30 days by grade). A kept-screen repair fixes one fault on your existing panel, so its 30-day warranty covers that fault coming back.
One more honest point: a repaired line can come back as the panel ages. A new screen is the more lasting fix; a kept-screen repair is the lower-cost one.
